Physical therapy is more than helping patients regain their mobility and become physically active —it transforms their entire lifestyle while positively impacting the lives of family, friends, and loved ones.
Clinicians in this field are passionate people who love what they do, but oftentimes are overloaded in the clinic. Unfortunately this leads to many making personal sacrifices to ensure the patient comes first to get the highest quality of care.
Katy Kleinberg and Christine Ogbonna, two of our exceptional DPTs, shared their experiences with us to learn how Luna is reshaping the workplace by empowering therapists with flexibility and autonomy.
It can be challenging to give patients your full attention in a clinic, as your focus is often split between charting, documentation, and other patients in the waiting room.
Often “you’re back-to-back, the volume is really high, and there’s not a lot of downtime in between patients —and often being two-to-one or three-to-one,” said Christine Ogbonna, DPT. “Getting to be one-on-one with the patient but then also being in their environment” allows a physical therapist to assign an exercise program based off of the patient’s home and everyday surroundings.
Katy Kleinberg, DPT, shared with us that “patients are so much more comfortable in their home. In that environment they’re more open to trying new things… and not having to go through the hassle of getting in their car, driving, and parking.” By being in their home, they can feel at ease with tailored exercises that naturally fit into their daily routine.
Luna is a game changer for our PTs, offering flexibility in-between therapy sessions. The in-app evaluations improve efficiency, making documentation smoother and taking notes quicker so you aren’t stuck at the clinic after hours.
According to Christine, the whole process “flows from the first question to when the examination begins; it feels like the natural progression” so your patient sessions keep moving and you can focus on what really matters during —and after— their session.
With the added flexibility, you can still prioritize things in your personal life while enjoying the work you’re passionate about. You can travel and everyday will look different with new scenery.
“I would have never had the time to be this creative!” — Christine Ogbonna, DPT
You aren’t confined to the space of the clinic and it can open new doors and creative avenues not only in your personal life, but also in your work life.
Katy shared that “some patients live in really cool places and you get to walk around their neighborhood. One of my patients lived in Venice right on the beach, so we would go for walks on the beach every morning.”
Luna gives you independence to govern your own life. Rather than feel ruled by restrictions of a clinic, you’ll have the time to go hiking, catch up on reading, do your Duolingo, or even take Fridays off. You have the freedom to decide what you want to do with your day.
“I can’t believe I get paid to do this!” — Katy Kleinberg, DPT
The flexibility Luna offers therapists is revolutionizing the work experience, and we aspire to change what it means to live and work as a physical therapist. If you’re ready to feel in control of your time, learn more about joining Luna.
